Who Are Rees Machinery Group?
The RMGroup business developed into the supply of automated packaging and product handling machinery, as well as maintaining top class service support for other manufacturers machinery and contract packing. Today RMGroup manufactures and supplies all product and pallet handling solutions around packaging and palletising systems, including robotics.
The company has evolved with industry demand for affordable, quality products backed up with a reliable service and aftersales care.
The Key Challenges
Due to the complexity within each system that RMG manufactured, BOM management had always been a pain point. Working with Medatech, RMG now have a solution that links directly to Solidworks, pulls out an export and populates a full BOM within Priority.

Selection process – The key criteria when selecting an ERP solution was that the system had to have a background in manufacturing. This was important to RMG because manufacturing is a fundamental part of their business.

Another key aspect when choosing a partner/vendor for the implementation was that they had plenty of experience within the industry.
The Solution

System flexibility, RMG had certain business processes which they wanted to maintain after implementation, it was important to choose a system with plenty of flexibility to ensure that the DNA of the business did not change. On the other hand RMG also had huge areas of the business which has no process in place at all. Priority allowed RMG to implement new procedures from the ground up, whilst also allowing them to keep the unique things that make them who they are.

RMG use Priority within all departments in their business, they have seen the largest increase in productivity in the departments with the greatest user adoption. As well as this RMG also use Priority Mobile for all shopfloor workers, allowing them to access data, and to report directly into Priority. Using QR code scanning all processes that were once cumbersome and manual, are now more efficient.
The Outcome

Production efficiency – gaining insights into work cells, has allowed RMG to identify things such as over processing, supply chain issues and other issues impacting their production which were previously hidden, allowing them to boost their production efficiency.

Increased turnover –Through the new insights and a better understanding of all areas within the business, since implementing Priority three years ago, RMG have managed to significantly increase their profitability without increasing headcount.
